Program FAQs

  • The Next Gen Program is a six-month, full-time program where Hunter St. Hospitality employs you as a full-time employee, pays you for every hour you work, and covers the cost of your Certificate III in Hospitality, RSA and RCG. It is designed as a supported entry into working life for young people.
  • No experience is required. The program is designed for beginners, with training and support provided throughout.
  • The program runs across three Sydney CBD venues: Fratelli Fresh Darling Harbour, Munich Brauhaus and 24 York. You are based at one venue for the duration of the program.
  • You will work 38 hours per week across five days. Shifts run between 10am and 10pm and include weekends and busy periods.
  • Training includes on-the-job learning and one formal training day per month, alongside completion of the Certificate III in Hospitality.
  • Successful cadets are offered ongoing employment and the option to continue training, including progression into Certificate IV and leadership pathways.
  • That’s completely fine. Many people use hospitality as a stepping stone. The skills you gain are highly transferable and work well alongside further study. After the program, you can continue working casually or part time while studying or move into another industry with real workplace experience behind you.
