A video message is a great way to showcase yourself to your potential new employer. Here are some tips and tricks you can use to make sure that your video hits the mark.  

Video Tips  

• You can record your video message on your phone or computer.  
• Have a plain background – do you have a white wall? stand in front of that! 
• Use a tripod or computer rather than holding the phone. 
• Try not to have too much background noise.  

What to say 

• Introduce yourself and say your name  
• Speak clearly and slowly – we tend to rush when we are nervous.  
• Try not to use any slang or abbreviated words 
• Personalise the message to the company and role 
• Say the name of the role  
• Why you like the brand or want to work for them  
• Reasons why you’d be good at that job
